Our Story

One club. One community.

Endless potential.

At Traralgon Netball Association, we believe every kid should have the opportunity to participate in grassroots netball. We are an inclusive club with opportunities for all ages, genders and abilities.

Traralgon Netball Association was founded in 1948 and has been providing opportunities for the community since. Many of our dedicated committee members spent their junior years playing in the association and have now come full circle with their own children involved.

Our NetSetGo program caters to our budding netballers starting at age 5 where there is a games-based approach to developing basic netball skills and community. We consistently run both Net (5-6 years) and Set (7-8 years) with Go (9-10 years) where our competitive netball begins.

Our winter season generally runs across school terms 2 & 3 with twilight being a short and sharp fitness builder in term 4. These competitions see our youngest netballers at age 7 participating in 9&U with modified rules, all the way through to our senior netballers competing in our 17&U competition. At TNA we are lucky to have significant male participation making it possible to run mixed grades in both our 15&U and 17&U competitions.

Our squad representative program is known for its high standard and skilled coaches. Our squad teams begin in 11&U with opportunities for 13&U, 15&U and 17&U provided numbers are strong. We welcome anybody who wants to take their netball one step further to try out each year. To be eligible for our squad representative teams, you must have participated in our competitions. See FAQ for more information.

In the Gippsland region, we are well-known for our Training Umpires Program (TUP). This is our umpire development program where participants as young as 12 learn the skills is takes to umpire. With the dedicated team of senior umpires, we are able to provide mentoring for most of our beginner umpires. Our beginners wear Umpire in Training bibs to help families recognise they are still learning. We also participate in The Green Band Initiative where our U18 umpires are required to wear a green scrunchie or arm band.
